Friday

Hello, Year 6! It's almost the end of the week already! Welcome to another day of home learning!

Here are yesterday’s answers:

For the Budget Quiz, generally speaking, if you answered A, it showed that you were beginning to think about saving. B showed that you were a spender rather than a saver. C showed that you think about saving and tend to spend sensibly.

Now for today’s learning:

The Daily Joke: laugh

What is a witch’s favourite subject in school?

(answer is at the bottom)

English

You have planned your Sea World leaflet. Today, your task is to write the leaflet. Right click to open the pdf in a new window or tab for some hints and reminders.

If you need it, here is the map of Sea World that you were given yesterday.

Maths

For today’s maths, you are going to focus on finding fractions of amounts. There is a video to watch, then a task to complete. You can answer the questions in your exercise book.

Remember, you can pause the video at any point.

Start by watching the video and then open the pdf sheet underneath for the questions.

R.H.E.

How did you get on with the Socrative quiz (well done to those of you in Class 14 who went back to try the link again after it had been corrected. Sorry, again!)? The quiz is still open if you haven’t managed to complete it yet.

Are you potentially a financial whizz kid or is the only thing you know about money that you can spend it on crisps, sweets and fizzy pop? Watch this video as a simple introduction to the principles of banking.

Right click on the ‘Which Bank Account’ pdf to open it in a new tab or window and read it through carefully. Things like interest, savings and the different types of bank account are explained. Do you have a bank account already?

Right click on the ‘Choosing an Account’ pdf to open it in a new tab or window and read it through carefully. You will then need to think about which sort of account would suit each of the three children. Consider their wants and needs before making your choice.

You may find it useful to refer to the knowledge organiser as it defines some of the vocabulary.

Well, there we have it – another week of learning done and dusted and another weekend for you to relax and enjoy. Have fun and we’ll  be back again on Monday!
