Friday's Activities

Today's Activities:

Maths

Today’s maths activity uses shapes you might find around the house. We would like you to match the objects you find to their shape - you could use your shape cards for this. See below for an example:

As you can see, I found it tricky when looking for triangles! Can you find any? Let me know what you find with a picture on Tapestry please! Happy hunting!

English

It's Friday which means it is Mr Thorne and Geraldine's time to shine! Here are their 'a' videos.

Topic

As it is nearly Easter, we thought for your topic work you might like to try some Easter baking! In Pre-School at this time of year, we LOVE to make chocolate nest cakes. Simple, but delicious.

For this recipe you will need:

  • 85g shredded wheat (or rice crispies, cornflakes etc)
  • 200g milk chocolate
  • mini eggs to decorate
  • cupcake cases

Melt the chocolate in a small bowl placed over a pan of barely simmering water (or in the microwave!)

Pour the chocolate over the shredded wheat and stir well to combine.

Spoon the chocolate wheat into 12 cupcake cases and press the back of a teaspoon in the centre to create a nest shape.

Place 3(ish) mini chocolate eggs on top of each nest.

Chill the nests in the fridge for 2 hrs until set.

Finally - enjoy your delicious nest cakes!

Please note - we understand that families may be finding it difficult to obtain various ingredients at this time, but we just like to give a topic activity idea. Hope you are all keeping well.
