Miss Mistry

Hey everyone! laugh

I miss not seeing you all, but hope you're all keeping well!

Good News! Last Thursday, Miss Newball had a baby boy! She’s called him Ezra! Both Miss Newball and her new baby are doing very well! laugh

Thank you to those of you that have shared your work with me via the school email address and Twitter. I have enjoyed keeping up to date with your home learning and it's been lovely to see lots of you completing work at home with great enthusiasm and effort shown.

It's been great to teach in school again. Mrs Gohil and I have created you all 'Catchphrases' to guess and have a go at. Let us know how you get on with this. Some of them are trickier than others.

As mentioned on the page, we will be going back to writing you daily messages again, so that we can communicate with you all more, as we miss it lots!

Work this term is organised differently. Maths and English is set every day, but there are still Topic activities (Extra Activities folder) for you to have a go at and a Reading task every week, which are all uploaded at the start of the week. Do have a go at these!

From your Socrative messages last Friday, it was great to see lots of you enjoying activities at home, for example:

  • PE with Bradley (a new version of PE with Joe, created by Bradley)
  • Archery
  • Playing lots of sports
  • Painting
  • Attempting Year 5 Home Challenges (Remember if you have completed this, send me your evidence via email)

I could also see character value words that have been set, that are either in progress or have been accomplished. Keep this up everyone!yes

Ethan - Glad you enjoyed reading 'Double Exposure'. It was a fantastic text!

Tori - Unfortunately, I don't know when year 5 will be going back to school. Like I've said before, I hope it's soon and we are keeping up-to-date with government guidance. We will just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope that things get better, so that we can all return back to school safely. Stay positive! smiley P.s. I loved seeing your bowling alley created.

Isabel - Yes, of course I'm still dancing at home! I've been teaching dance classes virtually, which isn't the same as being in a dance studio, but it's good to still be able to do this.

Abigail - Thanks for your Socrative messages. Your crotchet chain sounds exciting. I'm glad your aunty liked your bug hotel. You mentioned working on a dance routine last week. What have you been working on?

Bradley - I wonder if you've attempted any more Year 5 Home Learning Challenges. 15 out of 30 is fantastic. Keep going!

Jake - Well done for creating a den, as part of the Year 5 Home Learning Challenge!

I look forward to hearing from you via Socrative! Daily messages will be back next week, so keep your eyes peeled on Monday! 😉

Have a fab weekend!
