Good morning everyone! 😊
Hope you’re all well and enjoyed yesterday’s Countdown too!
Star of the Week will be tomorrow! Could it be you?😉
Yesterday, the Premier League football began! ⚽️ How exciting for all you football fans! 😊
Recently, Marcus Rashford (Manchester United and England’s footballer) wrote an open letter to MPs asking them to reconsider their decision to stop school meal vouchers for low income families in the UK over the Summer holidays. The COVID-19 situation has impacted many families and some families are struggling at the moment, through no fault of their own, to earn enough money to feed both their children and themselves! These families are being supported in being able to afford food to eat by the government through school meal vouchers. Stopping this over the school holidays would mean many children would be at risk of going hungry everyday.
Marcus Rashford did not agree with this and wrote to MPs (See the Newsround link at the bottom of the page) to reconsider their decisions and continue to support children. He managed to make a difference by getting the decision changed and even spoke to Boris Johnson. This is truly inspirational! 💛💛💛
Abigail - Your poem on Diversity was fantastic! It really portrayed the message of accepting everyone for who they are and not judging people on their background! Well done Abigail! Glad you’ve been enjoying the home learning set!
Oliver - Your drawing of Rowley Jefferson from The Diary of a Wimpy Kid was lovely! 😊 I’ve also enjoyed watching your guitar performances sent via email! Keep up the great work ethic!
Isabel - Glad you liked the Blue Planet lesson on Sea pollution and yes it does make you understand what we can do to really make a difference to our planet. The Secret Garden book is excellent and I’m glad you enjoyed this reading task from last week. Your walk on Friday to mark the Sponsored walk sounds great and being able to see your grandma too is exciting! Regarding your question about Jump2it! , I’d love for you to be able to perform it on stage, however there’s still a lot of uncertainty and it may not happen unfortunately. If it does happen, of course you’ll get a chance to practise, but at the moment I cannot guarantee anything! I know how hard you’ve all worked for that performance, but think positively to all the skills you have learnt from the process of this! ☺️
Niva - Good to read that you’ve been creative with drawing and painting. I wonder if you’ve had a chance to get creative with this week’s paper mache/salt dough task for making an Ancient Greek urn?
It’s nearly Friday! 😁
Keep motivating yourselves to always do your very best no matter what!
Miss Mistry 💛
