Miss Mistry

Good morning everyone! laugh

Hope you had a restful weekend!

Yesterday was Father's day! I wonder if you did something extra special for your dad? Do let me know on Socrative. I made a Sunday brunch for my dad and family - scrambled egg, hash browns, beans, toast and avocado. heart

On Friday afternoon, as I mentioned, I taught a virtual Bollywood dance lesson to my class with my sister. It's strange not teaching in person, but it's lovely to still be able to do something I enjoy and still motivate my class to stay positive through dance (even if it is virtually)! laugh I also received a bouquet of flowers from the dance academy I work for, in recognition of all the online dance classes and fitness sessions that I've been delivering since the start of lockdown. (See the photo at the bottom of the page!) This was a lovely surprise!

On Saturday, I marked 'The Hall School Sponsored walk/run' by running 10K, starting from my house to the nearby country park and around the gorgeous lake. I greeted everyone along the way with a 'Good Morning!' and kept pushing myself not to give up, even towards the end.

Let me know how you marked this event.

When I came back from my run, I decided that I needed a long overdue haircut! So I had to trust my youngest sister to give me a lockdown haircut. As you can imagine, I was nervous, but she did a good job! Phew! wink I wonder if any of you have had a lockdown haircut? I've seen a few lockdown haircuts at school!

Later on Saturday, I went for a 2 hour walk to the woods (Outwoods, Loughborough). It was lovely to get outside again after the heavy rain we had last week. I did treat myself to an icecream from the icecream van! Yummy! heart

On Sunday, I practised a dance routine that I learnt last week in an online class, and learnt a new routine that my friend choreographed. It's great to be able to share what you enjoy! Sunday's are the day where I meal prep. This basically means that I prepare my lunches for the whole week! So for this week at work, I've prepared a 'Chicken Caesar salad' with additional fresh veg and a 'Mushroom and red onion sauteed pasta' (See photos below).

As well as this, I also made Blueberry muffins for my colleagues to be placed in the staffroom. I had lots left over, so I made the rest as a cake!

Lovely to hear from more of you on Socrative last Friday! Keep this up!

  • Charlie - Do take care of yourself and let your foot heal if it still hurts! I'm sure you'll be up and running in no time! Great to see lots of your home learning from last week, especially for maths! Keep this up!
  • Oliver - Lovely to read that you've been keeping your grandpa entertained with card games. He would sure appreciate your company! Any more attempts at your Victoria Sponge cake?
  • Declan - Glad you had a good week, last week!
  • Banzi - I love Monopoly! Keep playing it, you'll get the hang of it for sure, Banzi!
  • Tori - I wonder if you accomplished your garden walk challenge? Also, baking a lemon drizzle cake sounds delicious. How did it turn out?
  • Abigail - I wonder whether you had a chance to do your bike rounds as planned with Isabella?
  • Bradley - Lovely to read that you've been working with Liam on Thursday and Friday! I liked your joke too!

I'd love to hear what you have been up to this weekend!

Let me know on Socrative-MISTRY1629!
