Physical

If you are struggling for ideas for exercise or P.E. you may want to try the following:

 

  • Sign up for a GoNoodle account (it's free) and has lots of physical activities www.gonoodle.com
  • Sing and dance along to some Tumble Tots, Jack Hartmann, The Learning Station or Sticky Kids videos on YouTube
  • Do some kids yoga like the ones on Go Noodle or on www.cosmickidsyoga.com
  • Have a play dough disco (There are lots of videos on YouTube on channels such as Spread the Happiness TV and Early Years Emily)
  • Jumping on a trampoline 
  • Climbing activities
  • Ride a scooter or a bike
  • Running and jumping games such as 'What's the time Mr Wolf?', 'Jumping beans', 'tag', 'Hopscotch' 
  • Build your own obstacle course
  • Skipping (you could even do this to music) 
  • A 'water race' (fill one container and transfer to another using a smaller container)
  • Playing musical bumps/statues/chairs
  • Play 'Simon says'
  • Use a balloon to play 'keepy uppy'
  • Play 'animal walk' (walk like different animals and try to guess who the other person is)
  • Puddle jumping
  • Run away from 'monsters' (one or more people can be a monster)
  • Play ball games
  • Have a dance party
  • Play 'the floor is lava'
  • Pillow walk round the house (lay cushions and pillows to make a path and balance along them)
  • Climb a tree (with supervision!)
  • Jumping on bubble wrap
  • Jumping hurdles
  • Limbo
  • Play 'captain's orders' (adult shouts an order, child follows e.g. 'scrub the deck' 'climb the rigging'
  • Play sleeping bunnies (can use songs from YouTube)
  • Hold your own sports day at home
