Posters

This term, we will be developing our formatting skills by creating a persuasive poster linked to our work on India. We will be using Microsoft Word to create the poster.

Key features of a good poster:

  • Clear eye-catching title: Your poster needs an eye-catching title because this is the first thing that the reader will see. You will want to make sure that it is a reasonable size so that you have enough space for the text and images, but not too small that it is hard to see.
  • A colourful background: It is always a good idea to have a nice colourful background to make your poster stand out. Try to avoid colours that conflict with your text however (e.g. do not use green text and a green background). You also do not want to use colours that are too bright, as this might make it hard to read. Try and use soft, pastel like colours).
  • Images: To give the reader some idea of what they can expect, you will need to make sure that you include lots of photographs of all of the different places. Try and experiment with changing the size, angle and border to make your images more exciting!
  • Information: Of course, most importantly, a good poster needs information to tell the reader what your images are all about. Make sure to include lots of persuasive language. You can find examples of this on the English page!
