Reading

During guided reading sessions in Year 4, we focus on using different 'reading VIPERS' each week. This stands for:

Vocabulary - Give/Explain the meaning of words in context.

Inference - Explain and justify something using information from the text.

Prediction - Think about what might happen next, using clues in the text.

Explain - Identify how information is related and contributes to the meaning as a whole.

Retrieve - Find and record key information from the text.

Summarise - Explain the key parts of the text in a short and simple way.

In addition to the books from the library, we also have access to lots of lovely E-Books from Oxford Owl. Please click onto the link below to visit the site.
