The Daily Joke: laugh

What lies at the bottom of the ocean, worrying?

(answer is at the bottom)

Click here for today’s Newsround Story.

For today’s maths, after a warm-up, you are going to continue the unit of work about ‘angles’. The focus is angles in a triangle. There is a video to watch, then a task to complete. You can answer the questions in your exercise book.

Remember, you can pause the video at any point.

Start by watching the video and then open the pdf sheet underneath for the questions.

Maths Angles Lesson 7

Today, you are going to turn your attention to the main characters that will be in your story. Click on the document called ‘The Quest for the Stone of Life 2’ to find out more.

Once you have created your main character, go to Socrative to tell us about him/her. We can’t wait to hear what you’ve come up with. Those of you who STILL haven’t made the effort to use Socrative, please ensure that you do. It’s very disappointing when the same few people are not sharing their learning with us.

You can post your responses here.

Once you've clicked on the link, Into the ‘Room Name’ box, type CHESTER263 if you’re in Class 14 and RODGER8236 if you’re in Class 13. Then click 'JOIN'.

Then type in your first name and last name initial so that we know who has answered. Then click 'DONE'.

You will then be taken to the question and a box in which to answer.

Once you have submitted your response, click ‘OK’. It will say ‘You‘ve completed the current activity. Waiting for the next activity to begin…

At that point, you can exit. We look forward to reading your responses. We aren’t able to respond to you personally, but we will read everything that you tell us.

Alternatively, you could photograph your character and ask a parent to upload it to #hallathome.

R.H.E. (Relationships and Health Education)

We are going to be thinking about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Read this Newsround page and watch the clips to give you a brief outline of what the Rights are and what they aim to do.

There are two versions of the Rights. The first version are the Rights in full: they are more detailed. The second version is a summary. You may read either of them.

Read the Rights and then reflect upon these 4 questions:

  • What do you think about them?
  • Are they fair?
  • Does anything surprise you?
  • Is there anything that you feel is missing?

Record your thoughts in your work book.

The Daily Joke Answer: laughlaugh

A nervous wreck.
