Good morning to you all!! How are you? We hope you had a pleasant Wednesday. Did you find out when Bastille Day is? How did you get on with your Spirited Arts project? We love the ones that you shared on #hallathome!
Here are yesterday’s answers:
Now for today’s learning:
The Daily Joke:
How do you stop an astronaut’s baby from crying?
(answer is at the bottom)
Click here for today’s Newsround Story. Do not try this at home!!!!
How did you get on with analysing the leaflets? Today, we’d like you to apply what you’ve learnt so far to the next challenge: advertising Sea World. Today you’ll be planning and tomorrow you’ll be writing. Right click on the pdf to open it in a new tab or window to find out more.
For today’s maths, you are going to focus on dividing fractions by integers. There is a video to watch, then a task to complete. You can answer the questions in your exercise book.
Remember, you can pause the video at any point.
Start by watching the video and then open the pdf sheet underneath for the questions.
We’re starting a new topic: Money, Banks and Budgets.
You are of an age, now, where you should begin to appreciate that money really doesn’t grow on trees!! As you get older and perhaps have more money, it’s important that you are aware of different things that you can do with it and appreciate the need to be careful with your spending.
In this lesson, we want you to think about your attitude to money and start to consider banks and banking, something you may never have thought about before.
Firstly, complete the Wants and Needs Survey. Are you impulsive or cautious? Do you look before you leap or just dive right in when it comes to spending? There is no need to print the sheet, just write the number of the statement and then ‘want’ or ‘need’ in your exercise book.
Now have a go at the Budget Quiz. Some of the questions may not actually apply to you directly but have a go. Are you a spender or a saver? There is no need to print the sheet, just write the number of the question and the letter of your response.
Finally, complete the multiple-choice Banking Quiz on Socrative. How much do you already know about money, banks and banking? This is just about finding out what you know. Please do not be tempted to start again if you ‘get one wrong’. It doesn’t matter, so long as you’re trying.
