Have you ever seen the television show ‘Catchphrase’? It uses idioms and phrases in a visual form. Watch the first five ‘catchphrases’ in the video below. Can you spot the phrase or idiom?

Have a look at the list of idioms. How many have you heard of?

Choose one of the idioms or another idiom that you know. How could you present it as a catchphrase? Sketch some ideas.

When you are happy with your design, draw and colour it. See if someone in your family can guess your catchphrase. If you prefer, you could present your catchphrase on the computer. If you have any animation software, you could create your visual idiom using that.
