Monster Phonics
Monster Phonics
At primary school, we teach children to read using phonics. Phonics helps children to link letters (graphemes) to their sounds (phonemes). At The Hall, we use a scheme called 'Monster Phonics' which is easier to learn and remember. Monster Phonics helps children to learn and recall spellings by using colour. Each sound and colour is also represented by a monster that makes that sound (a sound cue). This brings phonics to life and makes Monster Phonics highly engaging.
