The Rainbow Reading Room

For Key Stage One, there is the Rainbow Reading Room. The main aim is to promote reading for pleasure and to provide a stepping-stone from using the class book corner to using the library.

In the reading space, there is a good range of fiction and non-fiction books, poetry and leaflets. There are also ‘story sacks’. In these, is a book and little characters from the book to help tell the story. There is also a sack of different animals to allow children to develop their own stories. The art work, by Mr Rodger, provides an opportunity for creative discussion.
