Working together with families

We believe that strong partnerships between school and home are essential for every child’s success. By working closely with our SEND families, we aim create a supportive and inclusive environment where children can thrive. We value open communication, listen to parents’ and carers’ insights, and work together to ensure that each child’s individual needs are understood and supported throughout their learning journey.

What does it mean if my child is on the SEND register?

A child will be placed on the SEND register at The Hall School if they have been identified as needing additional support to help them to access learning in school and make progress, beyond what is offered as quality first teaching.

Together with you, your child's teacher will create an Individualised Education Plan. This will outline how your child learns best and what support is in place for them. The school we monitor their progress as part of the assess, plan, do, review cycle to ensure their needs are being met.

Leicestershire Local Offer:

The Children and Families Bill was enacted in September 2014. From this date, Local Authorities and schools are required to publish and keep under review information about the services they expect to be available for the children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) aged 0 to 25. This is the ‘Local Offer’.

The intention of the Local Offer is to improve choice and transparency for families. It will also be an important resource for parents in understanding the range of services and provision in the local area.
